Today I got thinking about all the women I know who go the extra mile to bring in extra income for their family. They choose what they love, and turn it into extra for the family. Love kids=run a dayhome or babysit part time, love to create = homemade art, crafting and adding beauty into the lives of others, love to capture perfect memories and create lifelong art = photography, love beauty = jewellry, makeup, and on and on...you find your passion and you share with others. It becomes a beautiful tapestry of people sharing in the lives of others, a community of supporting each other in our endeavors.

But does the passion fizzel out? When you become successful does it change?  Did the passion turn into you doing for others and not yourself? Now you feel like you are raising someone elses children, running out of time for your own, or giving up your weekends events to record someone elses? Are you so popular that you can't create your unique pieces fast enough to make it as profitable as you want and you are running out of time to make your business continue to grow?  Or you love your little home business, but can't keep up to the sales you want? What is your struggle? Is it in finding balance? Are you losing passion? Love what you do but still looking for more or feel like you have more purpose? Is it OK to want more? Is it OK to try something outside your comfort zone?

I've been an Independent Distributor with It Works! for almost 3 years. It has blessed me with the gifts of inviting new people, adventures and lessons into my life, and finding myself amongst this community of givers of has given me fulfillment I didn't know was possible from diving into a home-based business opportunity.  It always feels good to give to others, and to find fulfillment by giving back to yourself. I get to share how It Works! has given back to me, to my family, and to the people around me. And I do see others start asking themselves those questions. And is it OK to rethink where you are at?

Its OK to look for something more, to be ready for the next step, to look for ways to help your family reach its goals, or achieve its dreams. You are not defined by where you are at, you do not have to be afraid to grow. It's ok to Dream.

Refridgerator Genius!

So tonight, my refrigerator got an overhaul! Actually, only took a few minutes, so overhaul is maybe a big, scary word. And maybe not a total overhaul… there is still sour cream, cream cheese, cheese whiz, and all sorts of other comfort sins inside! A few old condiments got tossed, but I’m still reigning condiment queen!. Let me explain…

I saw a program on TV that recommended putting your veggies on the top shelf for easier access and shove the unusables in the crisper instead. And it didn’t take long to recognize the genius behind this, so I did just that-sort of.

I took all my fruit & veggies out of the crisper, no more “go there to die”! We all know that’s what happens.. No more throwing out wilted full heads of lettuce, ugh who wants to wash a whole head of lettuce just for one sandwich. No more tossing mushy tomatoes… Oh, this was under there? Or soggy long-forgotten cucumbers! As easy as it is to wash some grapes or cut up some melon, it’s SO much easier to open a bag of cookies sometimes!

Of course, whatever fruit n veggies overflowed from the crispers, got shoved just above them on the bottom shelf, and so much rolled to the back of the shelf it’d be months later and I’d say “when the heck did I buy parsnips?”

Nope, all the fruit and veggies are in plain sight and precut…problem…they don’t last long pre-cut…oh wait, how is this a problem?

The bottom shelf, now fairly clear, is set aside for eggs, and the butter, sour cream and cream cheese were banished to the bottom row. But I did, for convenience, still put them in a little basket so I could “slide” them out easier than digging to the back. And now there is space for leftovers. (Although, in this picture, none of those exist... 1) You have to cook! Something I’m avoiding lately! And 2) I just cleaned out my fridge remember.

Now what to do with those bottom two drawers? The foods I’m trying to limit go there now!…All my breads in one, they are an eyesore anyway a mess of twisted bread bags and half eaten loaves. And Although I usually despise cold bread (don’t know why just do) I decided that keeping it chilled means I can buy breads without preservatives and that’s a “good thing”. I just toast my sandwiches a lot more. And I buy a lot more pitas and have open faced sandwiches to cut bread consumption in half.

Then the meats n cheese go in the other bottom crisper. And what about the meat n cheese drawer now, what is in there? Pre-washed lettuce. No more wondering… “If I peel a few layers, you think any of this head is salvageable? No more, I’d love some lettuce on this sandwich, but that means washing that whole thing…Forget it.

And an added little bonus of putting the lettuce where the cheese was, or any of these other little switches, is when I go to grab where I’m used to grabbing, I’ll “accidently” open the lettuce drawer instead of the cheese drawer for a few days, maybe just trick myself long enough to think about my habits.

It’s so much more colorful, so nicely organized in my fridge. And yes I can hear you making excuses already…”But I don’t have time to wash all my veggies when I get home with a hundred bags of groceries and kids screaming for supper” Well yes. But I made my trip to the Grocery store a little earlier, which worked out great because I wasn’t starving and wandering around wondering what to do for supper, and washing them all at once takes no more time than washing each when you need them. In fact a little quicker cause you already have all your prep materials out n ready to go, your knives & colanders and all that don’t get dug out each time, just once. Plus, bonus… ate a lot of them while I was cutting. I sure got my servings that day, and was full by supper!

Overall, my fridge makes for healtier habits, and easier access to actually prepare meals and see whats in there. After all, prep is what seems to take the most time in cooking that I dread… So Maybe I’ll start cooking a little again.

Yes, and The coconut milk got put In FRONT of the regular milk, not behind! I don’t care that the rest of my family is fighting the change, it’s getting a front row seat!

And your keen eye might have picked up 2 cartons of eggs. I always have boiled eggs ready to grab. Great for a sandwiches, salads, on toast for breakie, or just to grab. Easy to do while you are prepping fruit n veggies!

Oh, and what about the freezer. Well, it never changes. I’ve always had pride in my freezer.
My freezer is 4 baskets. Two larger baskets, one for frozen fruit & spinach for morning smoothies, the other for purees, which you may remember from my previous blogs, and Two smaller ones, one basket usually leftover pancakes or waffles for the toaster (no eggos here, and in there right now is a multigrain frozen oatmeal I found and love), and lastly the fourth is for quick lunches, leftover chicken fajitas rolled into wax paper make great quick grabs, and sometimes pre-cooked bacon or turkey bacon which is so easy to pre-bake and freeze on wax paper and perfect for fast breakies or BLTs for lunch.

In the door of the freezer is always frozen yogurt tubes for the kids instead of ice cream treats, ice packs for lunches, frozen mugs for dad, and mommy’s crutch, coffee to keep it fresh.

A few little changes to make a healthier life just a little easier!

Tears of Gratitude

When you were little, I bet you had one of those Aunties that cried at every wedding.

And, with your childlike curiosity you probably asked...”Auntie, why are you crying? Are you sad?”

It wasn’t until you were an adult that you finally understood what tears of joy meant, and perhaps felt like. Maybe something so overwhelming in your life brought a tear to you eye, and you felt what it was like to be overwhelmed with joy.

But today, I woke up full of gratitude and I felt my own tear of joy welling up inside of me for almost no reason at all, just a nice word from a friend. And perhaps, yes for a moment, I thought I might be loosing my marbles! But I also had a memory.... My beautiful Gramma, so full of love each day, would cry at Grace. Not some big elaborate wedding, or overwhelming life experience… just saying Grace.

I understood it then, I felt it then, and have cryed tears of joy in my life. But today I felt a complete knowing… that feeling of being so full of gratitude that when you, even if briefly, truly understand even those smallest blessings, and you feel SO full at that moment, that to be any more grateful completely overfills your cup. I suppose your gratitude cup!

When you witness someone so full of gratitude that they have a tear of joy at even the saying of grace, you are truly in the presence of someone who is truly grateful, truly understanding of all that they know in life that there is to be grateful for. And it’s viral. It’s contagious. You can feel the gratitude in the room, you can’t help it. It’s a great thing to spread.

So I share my personal story, so that maybe today, you can see something it is that you can be grateful for and say Thank you. And feel true gratitude. It doesn’t have to be grand, or great. In fact, it’s the littlest things that sometimes carry the biggest gifts to be thankful for.

When you can no longer fill yourself with gratitude, you just may bring up a tear at Grace tonight.

HI!! Did anyone Miss ME?

Wow! It has been forever since my last blog! Where did I go?

Well, I’ve started writing so many new blog articles, but I am maybe guilty of a teeny tiny bit of overthinking! I have a folder FULL of writings, unedited, and perhaps a TAD over-chatty for just a simple BLOG post!

So, if you pair that with a handful of Procrastination…

And an Excuse or two, like … “there is never enough time” ….

OR a really good one… like…

And you find that they are all just another way to hold yourself back!

So...I could keep beating myself up over all my excuses,

but that wouldn’t be very encouraging would it… so with a little self-forgiveness,

I figured out that perhaps

And that life is not about the urgency,

That perhaps time is necessary for inspiration

And that

So maybe, just maybe, even when you think you’re doing nothing, you still are learning something!!

But even with that said…

...and...becuase...

It's time to stop putting off until tomorrow…

And get back at it!!!

So here is to the first BLOG of the NEW YEAR!!

"The ancestor to every action is a thought" - Ralph Waldo Emerson

What if everything we thought came true? Really...no movie plots here...think on this for a minute... What IF every thought that went through our head actually did come true? We’d be amazingly careful about what we thought of wouldn’t we!!

You ever have those days when you think of someone, and they call, or you bump into them at the mall, or see something about them on facebook, in the paper...whatever it is. Or in a fit of dismay you yell at the moon, just give me a sign, and the next thing you see is a street sign, or a traffic sign that says something that makes you go, yeah...ok. I’m a little tripped out right now. I don’t know how many times I’ve heard my husband say “I hit every red light”, and sure enough...he does. I laugh. He doesn’t think it’s so funny. I’m still trying to convince him he’s just getting what he’s asked for.

It makes me think. What if our thoughts control much more than what we think they are. It’s like “they” say, if you call someone something long enough, they tend to become it! If you call a kid stupid long enough, they’ll probably believe they are stupid. What about you...What are you saying to yourself? Or aren’t you listening... I dare you to pay attention! You’d be shocked how many times you criticize yourself, or get down on yourself. Then you wonder why you are stuck from achieving or getting what you want.

Yes, there is a ton of material about the Law of Attraction, or other new age information that will challenge your thoughts. But no matter what you believe, the basic truth is the more you create your positive thoughts, the more you will be attracted to things that you’ll naturally start to line up with those thoughts. The more you think negative thoughts, the more you will naturally lean to things that line up with those. To me it seems a little like oil and water. The oil seeks out the other oil. After all, misery loves company.

Let me pick your brain for a minute...Picture you are walking into a wedding dance. There is always a group of people dancing and having fun, a few people mingling or hanging out at the bar, and there is usually a table at the back of the room, counting down the seconds ‘til midnight lunch so they can leave right after, usually saying something about the crappy weather, how hot the church was, how the bride is to fat for her dress, taking bets on how long the couple will last. Notice that the fun people wanna hang out with other fun people? And the only ones hanging out at the misery table are the ones who are on the same wave length. They aren’t attracting much are they, except other yappers and moaners.

It’s just plain old human nature. If you are uplifting, outgoing, fun, and generally nice to be around...people want to hang out with you right? You are naturally attractive to others. If you are miserable, the only people who want to hang out with you are other people who want to argue for their misery too! I LOVE the quote...”If you argue for your misery, the only thing you will win is your misery...” –Dr. Wayne Dyer.

So, even if you think the law of attraction is something someone made up to make millions, you'll likely agree on the basic premisis "Misery loves company" and therefore it would seem to be true that positivity would have no company in a room of misery. It would seem basic that positive forward thought grows you toward a more positive outcome. Just like an urge creates an action to get what you yearn for, or a hunger makes you go out and hunt, so does a positive thought make you go out and create positive results while in the same, a negative thought draws you to fulfill the same as your thought.

“The ancestor of every action is a thought.” - Ralph Waldo Emerson.

So what’s on your mind?

This just IN...

Hello BLOG Followers and THANK YOU for you continued support! I BLOG today with an exciting announcement, a new door being opened on my path of self-development. You may have waiting to read the next blog and keep up with what has been developing lately, and I sit down tonight in a quiet house about to turn in and felt ready to share.

HAVE U GOT "IT"? Is expanding!... Almost two years ago now, I enrolled into an little known company called It Works! Global, distributing body slimming aplicators. Having regained my own body image, I was now on track to start helping other women do the same! I loved the products, the health and wellness aspect of the company and started noticing it flourish. Who knew that I could regain such self-confidence by participating in home-based business. For the first time in a long time, I felt aligned with something that fit! I found myself helping others and coaching others on how they too could follow what I had done. It felt right. So I followed along and I found myself personally growing and developing as I taught others, and the rewards came more than monetary, but with fulfillment.

Which leads me to where I am today. And I gladly announce, that Have U Got "IT", opens its doors to welcome a new adventure.

I now have completed a Certified Coach Practitioner Program, and welcome my new field. I'm excited to grow and develop myself as Rhdonda Hattum, CCP, Certified Life & Personal Development Coach.

Thank you for support as I continue to grow and share my experiences with you!

I'm so excited...And I just can't hide it...

Yup, the lyrics are running through my head a little today. LOL. And I'm putting on my BUSINESS Hat today!

This little thing I do called "It Works!" That you might have noticed (LOL) has a few exciting things "Up IT'S sleeve"...so to speak!

I not only did I get a great confidence boost by being on a Conference call with the CEO yesterday (with a small group of leaders in Canada by personal invitation) which in itself felt extremely satisfying to be a part of... so maybe not really such a big deal, but felt good to me! I was honored just to be able to listen in and call myself a part of such a WOW group of women. Yes...a little mini-brag confidence boost and shout out to some great women there--but as if that wasn't enough, I got a few hints about some exciting announcements coming up, and great door-busters that are going to be amazing, coming very soon this fall.

I am excited about the opportunity this will create this fall for everyone involved. In fact, I think I'm even more excited for all of you who are considering coming on board with this right now, just came on board, or those who ready to jump in again after a little spring & summer break. This is definately a different company than the one I started with just coming up on 2 years ago, and I know that if I could build a business with what I started with then, compared to what we have now, that I will be seeing so many successful peers find IT for themselves. The tools are there, the coaching is there, the products are first-to market. It's a TRIPLE THREAT! ;)

I MAY, just MAY even have another little step in my journey to announce as I celebrate my 2 years working-from-home, that I will get to share with all of you soon too! I am reaching out to make myself a better person, and a better coach to everyone who supports me and believes in me. I want to pay it forward by helping anyone else who wants to embody change into their lives, whether it is simply to supplement your health, fit into a favorite pair of jeans, or to add a second stream of income, big or small, into your life, or even completely change it!

If you want to get ready, get in!

The business is only $199. And for just a few more days (until July 15 you can save $100). I can show you how to turn that into at least $240 immediately and with only 4 customers how to turn it into over $700 in just 30 days. There is actual return on that initial fee, no, it's not just paperwork. You get actual wraps! EIGHT!!!! That's enough to wrap you and anyone else you want and actually find out for yourself what IT is all about! After that it's up to you! Really. It is your business to build your way, with someone available to help encourage you along the way.

This is the best way to get into the business at the lowest cost to you. I encourage you to take the next step. There is only 4, and one is enrolling! The rest are as easy as the first!

There, now, I'll put back on the MOMMY Hat and I'll BLOG you soon! I have more MOMMY tricks to share soon! (Until then, I added one of my favorite tricks at the bottom of the blog to tide you over!)

Thanks to all my BLOG supporters! I love that you are reading along my crazy life and I am so encouraged by all your supportive feedback!

How Toxic are You?

Lighten up your toxic load. Limit tanning, smoking, carbonated beverages, and alcohol. Consider substituting chemically-based cleansers, shampoos, and deodorants with natural products. (It Works! Global has an array of naturally-based skin care products, including cleanser, toner, and anti-aging creams.) Also, minimize the use of chemically-based household cleaners.

Avoid stressful situations. Confianza can help reduce the effects of stress on your body, which will slow down the detoxification enzymes.
Use the Ultimate Body Applicator regularly to aid in ridding excess toxins from your body. For optimum results, try to wrap 72 hours apart as often as possible.
Continue feeding your body with healthy nutrients. The supplements from It Works! Global will provide your body with all the vitamins, enzymes, phytonutrients, and minerals it needs on a daily basis.

Did you know that the tightening, toning, and firming results you see with the Ultimate Body Applicator are actually a side effect of detoxification? It’s true! When you use the Ultimate Body Applicator, you are actually detoxifying your body!

Detoxifying means you are nourishing your body from the inside-out by removing and eliminating toxins. By continuing to feed your body with healthy nutrients, you will renew your body’s ability to maintain optimum health and make it easier for your body to fight illnesses.

The hard truth is, we live in a world where our food and atmosphere contain toxic chemicals. The scariest part—we do not yet know what effects these chemicals and toxins will have on our long-term health. Detoxifying your body of these potentially harmful, or life-threatening toxins is critical to your overall health.
